Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS)

Our Sturgeon RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) combines modern aquaculture technology with sustainable farming practices to produce premium-quality sturgeon in a carefully controlled environment. By continuously filtering and reusing water, the system minimises water consumption while ensuring excellent fish welfare, consistent growth, and outstanding product quality. At Grand Union Farm, we are committed to responsible, environmentally conscious food production that delivers fresh, high-quality British sturgeon throughout the year.

Everyone is talking about “sustainable” and “organic” fish farming — but unfortunately, much of that buzz is built on loopholes and clever wording instead of real responsibility.

Many of these so-called sustainable farms rely on fish feed produced by trawling the ocean floor, wiping out ecosystems just to call it “sustainable.”
Others proudly display “organic” labels while still releasing antibiotics, pesticides, and toxic treatments directly into the sea — all hidden behind technicalities in the regulations.

They use the language of sustainability.
They use the marketing.
They use the labels.
And then they quietly work around the definitions.

We do none of that. Ever.

100% of our feed comes only from certified fisheries or trimmings from fish already processed for human consumption.
We use absolutely no antibiotics. No chemicals. No shortcuts. You can visit our RAS facility

We are small — because integrity takes time and intention.
But we are clean. We are honest. And we are truly sustainable — not just in name, but in practice.

our harvest taste better, too.
